How would you react if the world starts believing that you are a reincarnation of someone like Mahatma Gandhi? How would the world react when you start approving of this belief of theirs? What would you do once you find out you are nothing like what you thought of yourself until the night before? ‘Reincarnation’ is a short movie that deals with many such questions with grace and marvelous storytelling.
The movie is written and directed by a well-known short filmmaker Gaurav Bakshi and is published on the official youtube channel of Humaramovie. It stars Sumeet Raghvan in the central role of Siddharth. The film lasts just short of 15 minutes and manages to tell everything with flair within the same frame.
‘Reincarnation’ revolves around a young man in his twenties, Siddharth(Sumeet) who is frustrated with the single dream that he sees every night for 2 years, where Mahatma Gandhi is shot dead. While he believes it is some psychological problem, a lady strongly believes that he is the reincarnation of Gandhi. Over the period of time, subconsciously, he also starts believing the same and begins to act like Mahatma Gandhi. He is covered by multiple news channels, and even gets an invitation by PMO to visit Pakistan with them. This is when the major plot element occurs. To know what it was, watch the movie below.
The movie is very well directed by Gaurav and the performance by Sumeet is phenomenal. He shows the dilemma of Siddharth’s character with complete sincerity. Every scene, every dialogue, every gesture and every reaction that he exhibits are purely magical. The story is beautifully told not just through Siddharth but every character and object around him. Even the books that he reads add to the story flow. Overall, it is an experience worth the time you’ll spend watching it. Watch it here.
