Ki & Ka First Impressions

What Ki & Ka looks from the trailer is the same old boy-girl love story with a major twist that the male as well as the female protagonist of the movie swap away the stereotyped image of Heroes and Heroines in the Indian Movie Industry. Have a look at the excerpt of a dialogue below for better understanding

Main gay nai hu,
Sex change opertaion bhi nahin karana chahta
I like women, I like whiskey
Par ye office, career, ambition ke jhanjhat se door rehna chahta hu.

This dialogue pretty much sums up the trailer of the movie Ki & Ka. The trailer for the newest movie by famous director R Balki (Cheeni Kum, Paa, Shamitabh) was released on 15th Feb on the official Eros Now Youtube handle. And it does seem promising keeping in mind the track record of Balki. The presentation of Kareena Kapoor in the movie reminds of jab We Met and that reflects in the comments section of the video.
The highlight of the trailer is Arjun Kapoor’s character which breaks all the stereotyped representation of a Hindi Movie Hero.
Content looks rich, with age old dialogues with a major twist fresh enough, writing is interesting.
Music that featured in the movie includes a re-touched Yo Yo Honey Singh track “High heels” and sounds fresh. Also is a track “Most wanted Munda” that has the groove to it.
Overall, while the trailer seems interesting, it does not leave much to imagination as the whole plot is given as a cake. However, it will be interesting to know how the writers explore the story to make the movie interesting.
