‘Teraa Surroor’ Music Review : Surroor is Back with Bekhudi

Teraa Surroor is the latest record by Himesh Reshammiya. The movie is produced by T-Series Films and the music is under HR Musik’s label. The music album recently released and here is the music review of Teraa Surroor by Swudzy:

1.Main Wo Chand

The first track of the album tries to hit some melody into the ears and succeeds to an extent. This song is smooth in bits and looks weak at points. Darshan Raval does a great job at vocals. Lyrics also impress, especially the hook of the song. However, it is the music of the song that trumps.

2. Bekhudi

This is Best track in the album. Darshan Raval continues to impress with his textured voice. And he seems to find a perfect mentor in Himesh Reshammiya with consecutive hits. Aditi Singh Sharma also compliments him quite well. Sameer Anjaan’s Lyrics are spot on. But again, Himesh is the star of the song.

3. Wafa ne Bewafai

Here comes Arijit with his ever-romantic voice. Special appreciation to Himesh because this song sounds different from his usual compositions, yet he seems to own the song completely. Neeti Mohan and Suzanne’s voices add to the beauty of the song. Something great about the songs so far is the top quality lyrics.

4. Teri Yaad

The graph was going high, higher, high and then it drops drastically. This was the worst song of the album. Upon repeated hearing to figure out the cause, We can pretty much say that the rap in this song is by far one of the worst raps by Badshah. In fact, it is one of the worst raps ever
However, there is another rendition of the song without the rap. That one pretty much covers up for the mess of the former, which could have done a lot well without the rap. The reprise version also sounds like “Main Jahaan Rahun” and “Aap Ki Khatir” in terms of the ambience of the production.
Lyrics by Shabbir Ahmed are decent

5. Adhuri Zindagi

Ruturaj Mohanty’s voice sounds fresh in this track and suits the outstanding composition by Himesh. However, the lyrics of this stuff are not as good as other songs in the album.

6. Ishq Samandar (Reloaded)

This was a record-breaking song from the 2002 film “Kaante”. And the composer of the original partners with Himesh for this song. Anand Raj Anand is credited as the lyricist of the song while Himesh adds to the music with nerve-pumping beats. The chants of “Assalaam Walekum” is a treat for the fans of “Aap Ka Surroor The Movie”’s fans. Kanika Kapoor replaces Sunidhi for the female vocals and Himesh joins in for the chorus. A good track to hear and with this T-Series continues its trend of re-prising, re-making and re-mixing the tracks of older movies/albums in its banner.

Conclusion

While the full album is filled with top quality songs in terms of music, lyrics and vocals. It still falls short of making itself a classic. The songs have a potential to be blockbuster and are doing pretty well among fans. The music of the movie is worth keeping in your playlist except “Teri Yaad”.
Swudzy Favorites: “Bekhudi”, “Wafa ne Bewafai”, “Main wo Chand”
