It has been a loooong time since I wrote anything on this website. A lot of movies went by that I did not review. A lot of movies went by that I did not even watch. A little movie came and passed that I made. (You Should Seriously Watch It, in fact what are you doing. Watch it now.)

So regardless, the matter is that a lot of time has passed.

But hey, a period of ‘abandoned website’ does not really mean that the website is completely shelved. It was abandoned. And believe me. I wanted to resume operations a lot of times but wanted to restructure the website before I did that.

The New Format

See, I loved reviewing movies, and music and trailers. But to be honest, I felt odd while doing so. I always want to watch movies, In fact, I want to watch every movie that has come into existence and will come into existence at any future date, till I die. Even movies like Teraa Surroor and Thugs of Hindustaan.

But even though I like watching every movie. I sometimes do not like talking about them. The issue with a review website was that I ‘had to’ write reviews, no matter how the movie was. And while watching the movie, I could not enjoy the most, constantly thinking about the reviews that I had to write. Also, if you go back at the archived posts in this website, you will observe a lot of movies hanging in the 2.5 to 3.5 star zone. It is really hard to grade movies objectively. (I already grade enough students to not want grading movies too, I am also a tutor, just plugging it in)

So I made a decision, no more reviews. Afterall, I too am a student of cinema. And it is definitely not my place to criticize or condemn the choices a filmmaker makes to make the film his way. And I certainly do not have the right to influence others based on my opinion about the movie. (as if you guys changed your mind after reading my reviews, huh!)

I wanted to appreciate cinema, and the artists that make cinema happen. I want to talk about how awesome Manoj Kumar’s camera work was. I want to talk about Prabhu Deva’s quirky song sequences. I want to talk about the phases of Indian Cinema music. I want to do all that, without judging cinema.

I want to talk about the ‘Grey wala shades’ of the movie world too. The cringy trends, the over adaptive nature of Hindi cinema and a lot of stuff. So it is clear from the start that it is not all going to be happy happy.

But while doing all of that, the love of cinema will be at foremost importance.

Kalaeco – The Structure

Also, I want to make an official announcement through this post, that Swudzy is now officially a part of Kalaeco Creations Private Limited, a company that is focused to bring art and artists together to make art economically beneficial for everyone, while creating some awesome pieces of literary and cinematic work. (fingers crossed) I hope in the near future we will cover other art forms too. All in due time.

For now, the company has four wings

  1. Swudzy
  2. Literaura
  3. Publishing
  4. Kalaeco Store

Swudzy

Swudzy taking over the cinema wing. It will cover the blog posts about

  • Cinema appreciation
  • Artist Appreciation
  • MeViews (note that it is not Reviews)
  • And much more…
  • MeViews (note that it is not Review)

Also, Swudzy will be making short movies and web series, fiction or non-fiction. So if you are interested to work with a team like ours, go register as an artist in our database.

Literaura

Literaura is the content wing which covers literature, politics, lifestyle and what not. Just as Swudzy is for cinema, Literaura is for everything other than cinema. I might blabber a lot about that but I would rather want you to check out for yourself there.

Publishing

We have seen artists struggle to get their works published because they just couldn’t crack the right channel to approach the big publishers. And they just don’t want to invest in self-publishing. So hey, we are here with the approachable approach to Traditional Publishing. Where we do not charge a penny from the author to print and distribute their books. Plus they do get their due royalty. To get more info about the venture, I would suggest you to visit this link and know more.

Kalaeco Store

I think that this is enough for today. There will be regular posts starting today on this portal now.

Here is my second favorite(first one is Swudzy, remember) I always want to wear my love for cinema and literature to show the world. And I know you want the same too. So here is the official store for the Books that Kalaeco publishes and the official merchandise of Literaura and Swudzy. Other artists can also contact us to express their interest in having their merch on our store. We can grow together.

TLDR : Incorporated as Kalaeco. We have a store, a publishing business and reviews now replaced by more positive content.

Now listen to this marvelous song which depicts my feeling for you all beautiful readers.
